Deleting from inside the app

The fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.

1. Open Corteks
2. Go to Profile (the person icon on the right-hand rail)
3. Choose Delete account
4. Confirm

Deleting one thought, without deleting your account

You do not have to delete everything to delete something. Any single thought can be removed on its own, and your account and everything else stay exactly as they were.

2. Open the thought you want to remove, by tapping it on your graph or in your list
3. Choose Delete
4. Confirm

What that removes: the thought itself, the text and the transcript, any image attached to it, everything the app derived from it (its title, summary, category, themes, tags and observations), and its links to any objective. It takes effect immediately.

What it leaves alone: your account, every other thought, your objectives, and your chat history. A weekly story or reading already written may still refer to what you were thinking about at the time, because it was written before you deleted it.

If you cannot open the app and want particular thoughts removed rather than the whole account, email hello@corteks.app from the address you signed up with and say which ones.

Requesting deletion by email

If you cannot open the app, whether through a lost device or lost access to your sign-in, email hello@corteks.app from the address you signed up with, asking for your account to be deleted.

We will confirm the request, delete the account, and reply to say it is done. Allow up to 30 days, though in practice it is much faster.

What gets deleted

Everything. Deletion removes:

• your account and sign-in details
• every thought you captured, including the text and any images
• every objective, action and linked thought
• your chat history with the app
• every weekly story and every reading written about your thinking
• the categories the app created for you

This is a real deletion of the underlying records, not a hidden flag on your account.

What is kept, and for how long

Anonymous usage records. For each AI request the service records how many tokens it used and what it cost. These rows carry no content of any kind: no thoughts, no prompts, no replies. After deletion they are no longer linked to any account. They are kept so we can understand what the service costs to run.

Backups. Copies may persist in routine backups for a short period after deletion before they age out on their own schedule.

How long it takes

Deleting from inside the app is immediate. Deletion by email happens as soon as we have confirmed the request is genuine, and within 30 days at the outside.
